Current clarification ·
KAS is an association, not a shop or marketplace. This guide does not advertise available puppies or prices.
Health and veterinary care
Before breeding, both parents and relevant results should be assessed under the programme and veterinary advice. Eye health, patellae and general clinical condition are discussion points, not a universal compulsory panel declared by this guide. A variant-specific DNA test does not replace examination, and crossing breeds does not guarantee health.
Choosing a puppy and family care
Temperament, size and coat can vary between dogs. Regularly check coat, skin, teeth and comfort with handling; manage matting gently. No dog is guaranteed hypoallergenic. Gradual socialisation and learning to settle alone matter more than promises of a perfect temperament.
When speaking with a breeding family, distinguish a stated F1 pairing from its verification: listing parents is not automatically DNA proof of parentage. Ask which results relate to the mother or father, when they were obtained and who interpreted them. The Maltipoo label does not define uniform temperament, adult size or coat; plan for the individual dog’s needs.
Understand the breeding environment, meet the mother where appropriate, and discuss daily socialisation. Plan veterinary care, safe exercise, rest and coat care. At handover verify identity and the applicable age, vaccination and cross-border movement rules; a passport is not a universal requirement for every domestic handover.
Pedigree, identity and documents
Ask for the puppy’s identity, contract and an explanation of its genealogical document. Discuss available health outcomes with the breeder and veterinarian; DNA requirements depend on the specific programme, not a universal rule. Originals generally remain with breeders, vets or laboratories. An association pedigree is neither a health guarantee nor a state certificate.
Supervision, DNA & privacyQuestions and answers
Does a Maltipoo receive a state pedigree?
No. KAS documentation is experimental and association-issued, not an FCI or state pedigree. Verify the programme, parental identity and the scope of the entry.
