Our Mission

We are here for the dogs. And for the people who love them.

Behind every pedigree is an individual dog with its own needs. KAS supports responsible decisions based on available records, not promises of a life without illness.

Our Story

Legally registered since 2017, KAS supports responsible family breeding, documented selection and associative supervision.

We decided to say enough. And to start again: with science on the side of the animal, with ethics as a compass, and with discipline as a daily practice.

— Trust —

Three Pillars of Our Trust

01

Ethics

Welfare takes priority over appearance and sales. Breeders should openly explain their practices and known risks.

02

Discipline

K.A.S. requires reports of clinical veterinary breeding suitability examinations specified for each breed and its known hereditary risks. Veterinarians or qualified facilities perform the examinations; the association verifies the documentation and assesses results under the relevant protocol.

03

Controls

Check rearing conditions directly with the breeder. Ask about visits, available records and any inspections; their frequency should not be assumed without documentation.

Our Promise to You

"A pedigree is only one part of a responsible choice. Meet the breeder, review available examination results and consider the individual dog’s needs. No document guarantees lifelong health."

— Our Manifesto —

A promise written in the heart.

K.A.S. – Kennel Association Slovensko was born in Nitra, in Slovakia, from people who could no longer look away. From people who look a dog in the eyes and see a whole life that deserves respect, time, and real love — not a price tag, not a shop window, not a number.

Rearing in a family home can support socialisation only when suitable conditions and professional care are provided. In a distributed model, the breeder’s and each family’s responsibilities for care, records and handover must be clearly defined.

Responsible breeding respects the dam’s health, adequate recovery, genetic diversity and puppies’ needs. Decisions should draw on available records and veterinary advice; specific obligations follow the relevant programme and applicable law.

What we fight. Every single day.

— 01 —

Intensive and cage breeding: where a dog's life is worth less than a spreadsheet.

— 02 —

Serial, unchecked breeding driven only by the hunger for profit.

— 03 —

Irresponsible puppy trade with no papers, no history, no future.

— 04 —

Illegal cross-border trafficking without traceability, where tiny puppies travel in boxes, without vaccines, without rights, without papers, and arrive already sick in the arms of deceived families.

If you suspect neglect or unlawful sales, contact the relevant authorities. As a private association, KAS does not replace veterinary oversight or state enforcement powers.

— Transparency —

Total transparency. Not a choice: a moral duty.

Before taking a dog home, request available pedigree, identification and examination records. Agree the scope of support with the breeder. Original reports are generally held by their respective holders; human personal data can be appropriately protected when sharing.

Because every dog deserves to start well.

Choosing K.A.S. is an ethical choice. A conscious choice. A different choice — because a dog is not a product. It is a member of the family, from the very first breath.
